United States of America

Wayne Hindu Temple, New Jersey, in collaboration with the Odisha Society of New Jersey, celebrated its 21st annual Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra, drawing around 700 devotees despite inclement weather.

California court struck down portions of the state's Diwali holiday law, challenging its religious wording while leaving efforts to recognize and facilitate Diwali observance for Hindu Americans under continued review.

An investigation has revealed a Bangladesh-linked extremist network allegedly using encrypted online platforms to target Hindus through propaganda, recruitment, and incitement to violence. The network also claimed responsibility for attacks on Hindu temples, though these claims remain independently unverified.

Bangladesh's Hindu community has demanded the release of Haridas Chandra Tarani Das, arrested after proposing an 81-foot Lord Ram statue in Gaibandha.The protest also called for stronger protection of minority rights and religious freedom in the country.

 Nepal

Devotees thronged the Pashupatinath Temple from early morning to observe the first Monday of the month of Shrawan, considered an auspicious day for worshipping Lord Shiva.

A Hindu man was killed and nine others were injured during communal violence between Hindu and Muslim communities in Nepal's Sunsari district, with several police personnel also hurt in the clashes.

 Sri Lanka

Security threats from an underworld gang rivalry forced the cancellation of the sacred Kavadi ritual during Sri Lanka's centuries-old Esala festival at the historic Uthpalawanna Sri Vishnu Temple.

 India

The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has secured preliminary trademark approval for sacred names including "Jagannath Dham" and "Shree Kshetra" to protect Puri's religious heritage from unauthorised commercial use.

The move follows last year's controversy over the use of the name "Jagannath Dham" for the Digha temple in West Bengal, with SJTA asserting that the title is uniquely associated with Puri.

A traditional horse cart race was organised at the Ariyanachi Amman Temple in Rameswaram as part of the Aadi festival celebrations, drawing participants from across Tamil Nadu and thousands of spectators.

The Gujarat High Court ruled that a Hindu marriage is not legally valid without the performance of essential rites such as Saptapadi, holding that marriage registration alone cannot create a valid marriage under the Hindu Marriage Act.
